MSU Student Veteran Resource Center Renaming to Center For Veterans and Military-Affiliated Students

EAST LANSING, Mich. – Michigan State University’s Student Veteran Resource Center is entering a new chapter, rebranding as the Center for Veterans and Military-Affiliated Students (CVMAS) to better reflect its growing mission of support for service members, veterans and military-connected students.
The name change, effective this month, comes with a renewed commitment to fostering a welcoming and supportive environment for military-affiliated Spartans, not just veterans. CVMAS remains dedicated to recognizing and honoring students’ military backgrounds while guiding them through their academic journeys.

*UPDATED SUMMER '25 HOURS*
Many Veterans enter college and university life directly out of the military. This is a significant life transition, and most people need time to adjust to the new setting, culture, and experiences of campus life. This transition is more difficult for some Veterans than for others. They may need more help with physical or mental health issues or with the practical aspects of transitioning to this new environment. That’s where VITAL can help.
The Veterans Integration to Academic Leadership (VITAL)…
Are you a veteran, dependent, or a current servicemember starting at MSU next fall? We're inviting any military-affiliated students and their families to attend one of our Military-Affiliated Orientation Sessions this summer and learn the basics around using VA education benefits and services here at the CVMAS and in the community.
