What Is the PsychArmor Training?

PsychArmor is a nationally recognized nonprofit founded in 2013 to bridge the civilian-military divide through education and training. Courses are built with veterans, caregivers, clinicians, and experts to improve interactions with veterans, service members, and military families.

The organization partners with subject matter experts, clinicians, military veterans, and caregivers to create free, high-quality e-learning modules that improve interactions with veterans, service members, and military families.Since its founding, PsychArmor has trained hundreds of thousands of professionals, students, and community members nationwide. Its training library is used across a diverse spectrum of sectors—including healthcare, education, corporate leadership, and nonprofit services—with major partnerships including: Amazon, American Red Cross, and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs

At MSU, PsychArmor modules in D2L help faculty, staff, and student leaders:
  • Understand military culture, service-related experiences, and transition challenges
  • Communicate effectively and respectfully with military-connected individuals
  • Support student veterans throughout their academic journey and beyond

Modules are self-paced and short (10–15 minutes each). You’ll hear directly from veterans, caregivers, and experts on topics like:

  • Mental health and trauma awareness
  • Barriers to higher education
  • Reintegration into civilian and academic life
  • Best practices for inclusivity and advocacy

By participating, you join MSU’s commitment to a culture of understanding, respect, and support for military-affiliated students.
