Call to Action

What Is the PsychArmor Training?
PsychArmor is a nationally recognized nonprofit organization founded in 2013 with a singular mission: To bridge the civilian-military divide through education and training that empowers communities to better understand and support those who served.
The organization partners with subject matter experts, clinicians, military veterans, and caregivers to create free, high-quality e-learning modules that improve interactions with veterans, service members, and military families.Since its founding, PsychArmor has trained hundreds of thousands of professionals, students, and community members nationwide. Its training library is used across a diverse spectrum of sectors—including healthcare, education, corporate leadership, and nonprofit services—with major partnerships including: Amazon, American Red Cross, and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs
At Michigan State University, we’ve integrated the PsychArmor Training into our D2L (Desire2Learn) platform to help our faculty, staff, and student leaders develop the tools necessary to:
- Understand military culture, service-related experiences, and transition challenges
- Communicate effectively and respectfully with military-connected individuals
- Support student veterans throughout their academic journey and beyond
This self-paced training is composed of short, engaging modules—each taking just 10 to 15 minutes—that can be completed independently or as part of your broader professional development plan.
You’ll hear directly from veterans, caregivers, and experts in the field—giving you an authentic, informed perspective on:
- Mental health and trauma awareness
- Barriers to higher education
- Reintegration into civilian and academic life
- Best practices for inclusivity and advocacy
By participating, you’re not just gaining knowledge—you’re becoming part of a campus-wide commitment to building a culture of understanding, respect, and support for military-affiliated students at MSU.
