Spring 2025 Graduation Cord Ceremony

Event Details

On Tuesday, April 15th, the Center for Veterans and Military-Affiliated Students (CVMAS) will celebrate our graduating student veterans and those currently serving by bringing back the annual Graduation Cord Ceremony, where our students receive their red, white, and blue graduation cords, denoting them as veterans or current servicemembers during commencement. 

Please see the sections below for the expected attire and a guide for free parking for the event.

Who: We're honoring veterans, servicemembers, and up to two guests per student (please email us at veterans@msu.edu if you require more guests)
What: Graduation Cord Ceremony and Dinner
Where: The MSU Union in the Lake Huron room
When: 4/15/25 from 5:45-7pm

Attire

We ask that guests dress business casual, if possible. Please use the chart below as a general guide.

Parking

Parking for the graduation cord ceremony is complimentary for attendees thanks to support from our donors. To access the parking, use the URL below to register your vehicle ahead of time. Parking will be limited to Ramp 6 / Lot 103 at 449 E Circle Dr. (highlighted in green). Please note, parking will only be complimentary with that code from 4:30-7:30pm on the day of the event. The Union, where the event will be held, is highlighted in blue.
