Mission: The Student Veterans Resource Center is dedicated to promoting the educational, career, and personal advancement of service members, veterans, and their families at Michigan State University.

Vision: The Student Veterans Resource Center vision is to welcome service members and veterans as individuals, while recognizing their shared experience of service in the United States military, by providing a space to share and plan for their successes and concerns.

Focal Areas: Transition, Persistence, Academic Achievement, Career Development, Employment

Patrick Forystek

Background: Patrick is a Marine Corps veteran, serving from 2008 to 2012 as an artillery cannoneer and section chief. He received his BA from the UM-Flint and his MS from Walsh College

Experience: Patrick has worked in higher education veterans services since 2013, initially as a VA work study then as a coordinator. Most recently, he spent three and a half years as a coordinator and certifying official.

Hobbies: Patrick enjoys playing hockey and traveling with the Michigan Warriors and riding his motorcycle.
